Internal Pockets and Compartments:
The backpack is equipped with various internal and external compartments and pockets to store and transport medical equipment in an orderly manner for an efficient check-list. The configuration mentioned here is based on the 118 check list from the Piedmont Region, but can also be customised to suit different needs.
Main compartment:
The main internal compartment is equipped with a Velcro system for storing removable pockets in different colours to hold the following material
- Pocket to hold medication
- Pocket to hold dressing set
- Pocket to contain adult intubation set
- Pocket to contain infusion set In addition, on the front of the main compartment there are 2 transparent pockets for containing the following material:
- Upper pocket to hold a thermometer and eye pack
- Lower pocket to hold a glucometer and finger-prick lancets.
On the front of the backpack the following pockets are also present:
Front of backpack:
- Transparent front pocket for inserting backpack and rescue vehicle identification.
- Pocket for inserting isothermal blanket and waste bags.
- Large pocket for holding the following materials:
a. Adult ambu with reservoir
b. Reservoir mask and adult aerosol
c. Removable pocket for containing ventilation set
Upper pocket:
Suitable for containing the following materials:
d. Saturimeter (to be housed in dedicated mesh pocket)
e. Sphygmalm and adult phonendum
f. Pen and biros
g. Adult, paediatric and neonatal saturimeter sensors.
Right side pocket: To hold the 500 ml lactate ringer, sol glucosate 5% 250 ml, scissor cutter and IV holder daisy chain.
Left side pocket: To hold the sharps container.
Back pocket: For holding tablet.
